SPEAKEASY

In celebration of ten successful years in Seattle, a local real estate company hosted a fabulous speakeasy-inspired prohibition era bash to thank friends and clients.

Guests arrive to a nondescript door which opened to an unexpectedly beautiful gallery. KWANCHAI transformed this blank slate into luxurious quarters befit of the 1920s to draw party-goers into an exuberant night of sipping, nibbling, gambling and dancing. Feathers, fancy hats and French 75's abounded!
HONG KONG SEAFOOD 10TH ANNIVERSARY

The family-run Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant celebrated its 18th year in business by welcoming friends and family to a summery Seattle evening of dinner, cocktails and live music. KWANCHAI provided print and event services, from designing custom invitations to securing the live jazz trio as well as coordinating the permitting and decor of a 30' x 60' tent erected on the premise for this special occasion.
FINERIE 5TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT
W SEATTLE TAKE A BITE OUT OF THE PACIFIC NORTHEWEST EVENT

W Seattle needed a special atmosphere to entertain Starwood's top sales people and KWANCHAI was their first and only call. KWANCHAI designed every detail from flower arrangements and decor to lighting and visual effects. The lobby was transformed into a swanky "meet and greet" bar with W Seattle's signature cocktails and hors'd oeuvres while Earth and Ocean restaurant was reinvented as a hip Moroccan lounge with live musical grooves. To our delight, many W Seattle staff praised the decor and remarked that they would like to see the KWANCHAI-designed lounge to remain!
ART AS FASHION EVENT

Partnering with the endlessly chic Finerie and dazzling artist Tony Taj, KWANCHAI provided gratis visual and event design services to the 'Art as Fashion' event in support of the Puget Sound Chapter of Susan G. Komen for the cure.
CD RELEASE PARTY

The Kristin Chambers CD release party offered a summery outdoor evening of food, drink and live performances by Kristin and her band. Flickering candlelight, dazzling butterflies, sparkling mirrors and twinkling lights fulfilled the "All That Glitters" event concept. Guests were treated to a sneak preview of Kristin Chambers' upcoming music video under a beautiful violet sky.

Marination Mobile - rated "America's #1 food cart" by Good Morning America - catered the event. What a night!
THE FINERIE HOLIDAY TANGO AT CLUB SUR

With back to back fashion shows in just a few weeks time, KWANCHAI ensured The Finerie's holiday party was one to remember. Warm amber tones and sparkling turquoise details accentuated the sultry space while food, drink, conversation and music entwined with live fiery tango and chic fashion. Guests felt the heat rise at this winter event!

W SEATTLE TENTH ANNIVERSARY EVENT

W Seattle celebrated it's 10th Anniversary with a fabulous Film, Fashion & Music soiree!

KWANCHAI inspiration provided the key design elements for this grand event, from Hollywood-inspired lighting and futuristic projection screens to soaring fabric panels and sparkling, bejeweled centerpieces.

THE FINERIE 1ST ANNUAL FASHION EVENT FOR CHARITY AT PNK ULTRA LOUNGE

Team KWANCHAI presented The Finerie in high fashion style, heading the graphic, print and media design for the 1st Annual Fashion Charity event at PNK Ultra Lounge. In addition to presenting live video feed of the fashion walk to every corner of PNK Ultra Lounge, KWANCHAI also coordinated the projection of event sponsor logos on the 40 screens throughtout the entire venue.
EQUAL RIGHTS WASHINGTON

KWANCHAI provided the event design for the Equal Rights Washington Fourth Annual Gala THE POWER OF US on March 6, 2010 at W Hotel Seattle. We are delighted to be working again with ERW and W Seattle for this festive annual fundraiser. Showcasing innovation and creativity under tight constraints, KWANCHAI worked within a shorter timeframe and reduced budget to design a spectacular stage backdrop to feature the guest star: Emmy award winning comedienne and actress, Judy Gold.

The evening's great surprises, exciting auctions and show-stopping entertainment is a reminder why the ERW Gala islegendary and KWANCHAI is honored to be a part of this event year after year.

REFRESH - SEATTLE HOMES AND LIFESTYLES SPONSORED EVENT

For the REFRESH event premiere sponsored by Seattle Homes & Lifestyle Magazine, KWANCHAI worked with organizers, Kelli Patch and Trish Barnett, to create an event for the architecture, design and art communities. This event drew over 400 attendees to Greenwood's Urban Light Studios.

KWANCHAI provided graphic media for event with invites and video presentations, along with event promotional decor. REFRESH exhibited innovative products from 12 leading vendors along with original works by 12 local artists, including paintings by Jonathan Mathews.

NIJO SUSHI BAR AND GRILL ANNIVERSARY EVENT

Nijo Sushi Restaurant's 5th Anniversary celebration took form as an "Asian Sleepy Hollow" marking the full moon of Halloween 2009. KWANCHAI converted a vacant 5,000sq/ft retail space on Seatte's Furniture Row into a hip, one-night pop-up, festive party space.

KWANCHAI set Seattle abuzz weeks before the event with custom designed graphic media. 300 sexy, tantilizing guests partied into the wee hours. To mark this special occasion, Japanese artist, Boshiko, painted a custom dragon watercolor piece during the event as a gift to Nijo owner, Jasmine Mac.
BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS GALA

KWANCHAI's design for the BIG Event at Seattle's Fairmont Olympic Hotel captured the rich opulence of the Orient Express and highlighted phenomenal auctions, delectable food and fine wines to benefit BBBS of Puget Sound. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails and tasty nibbles while perusing auction tables designed to evoke the glamorous stops along the Orient Express. The evening's lively auction and wine-paired dinner were followed by a festive late night dance party.

LARRY MCLAUGHLIN ARTIST RECEPTION

KWANCHAI hosted an artist reception in April 2010 featuring new sculptural works by Larry McLaughlin. The reception marks McLaughlin�s return to South Lake Union where he previously collaborated with Kwanchai for a showing in April of 2009. Seattle joins Scottsdale, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, New York, Montreal and Paris with venues showcasing McLaughlin�s work.

In conjunction with his visit to Seattle, the Mercer Island Arts Council announced the installation of four additional McLaughlin sculptures to their existing McLaughlin collection at the Outdoor Sculpture Park.
PURR COCKTAIL LOUNGE PRIDE WEEK

This event celebrated Pride Week in Seattle at Purr Cocktail Lounge. The concept feature a rainbow color each day of the week, 9 lives in 9 days in 09, starting with a Weekend of White, moving through the rainbow to the following weekend with DJ Joe King and The Block Party with LA DJs, The Perry Twins. The week ended with the full spectrum Pride Party on Sunday.

In collaboration with owner and staff at PURR, KWANCHAI developed a concept for the week that was eco-conscious with innovative uses of recycled materials for the event decor. IN addition, events graphics and media were designed by the Kwanchai Team.
WOMEN’S FUNDING ALLIANCE DINNER - MARINATION MOBILE

Marination Mobile - rated "America's #1 food cart" by Good Morning America - contacted KWANCHAI to design their tables at the 18th annual 'Art of Dining, Women's Funding Alliance' hosted at the Fremont Studios. A very special evening benefiting women and girls in the Puget Sound region.
EQUAL RIGHTS WASHINGTON

KWANCHAI designed the Equal Rights Washington Lights, Camera, Action! Gala on March 7, 2009. From initial concept and menu selection to event design and day of coordination, Kwanchai was there to ensure the event progressed smoothly every step of the way.

Equal Rights Washington's Third Annual Gala at the W Seattle was hosted by former KUOW morning anchor, Deborah Brandt. The third annual gala benefitted the work of ERW, the largest statewide LGBT advocacy organization in Washington. Featuring an appearance by ERW Gala veteran & Last Comic Standing finalist, Michele Balan, and a special guest performance by the fabulous RuPaul, ERW's annual blockbuster was epic.

STACY LOGAN THIRD ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

KWANCHAI brought a Southeast Asian vibe to the Stacy Logan Showroom 3rd Anniversary Celebration. In addition to catering the event with Jonathan's authentic Thai recipes, KWANCHAI also supplied the staff, bartender and DJ. To round out the evening, KWANCHAI created a disco for guests to dance the night away. With simple design and creative collaborations, KWANCHAI can translate any event into a world class experience.
DAVIS WRIGHT TREMAINE

KWANCHAI hosted the evening at Kwanchai Studio with Private Sushi Chef Naomi. This international law firm wanted to create a setting for their Summer Interns which encouraged festivities, entertainment and mingling. The event commenced with a traditional Japanese sake toast and continued with guests learning Japanese dining traditions and how to make sushi rolls and hand rolls.

THE BUMP HALLOWEEN PARTY

KWANCHAI designed the Halloween 2008 fundraiser for Gay City/Seattle Men's & Women's Choruses.

For this Halloween party, Sleepy Hollow meets The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Seattle's waterfront. Gay City Health Project, Seattle Men's Chorus and Seattle Women's chorus host a Halloween party for 1000 festive guests at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center at Pier 66.
NORDIC HERITAGE MUSEUM ARTIC SUMMER FASHION SHOW

KWANCHAI's stage design served as the backdrop for this start of summer fashion show, spotlighting recent works of designers from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Hosted by Danish skincare specialist, Ole Henriksen, and attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden, with surprise guest, Seattle Sounders' Freddie Ljungberg.
SYTTENDE MAI

Syttende Gay Returns! Hej! May 17th, the Norwegian Constitution Day, is Ballard's biggest day of the year with the community hosting one of the largest parades outside of Norway. Syttende Gay came in to existence in 2006 as an annual celebration of Syttende Mai by Seattle's Scandinavian GLBT community. This KWANCHAI created event has evolved into an internationally promoted event with the help of local Ballard blogs, international blogs, Out Travel Magazine and Orbitz Travel.
THE FINERIE - THE EVENING OF DECADENCE

Urban chic and located in the design district in downtown Seattle, the sleek Finerie boutique hosted "The Evening of Decadence", featuring both men and woman's latest fashions and accessories. KWANCHAI designed the Hotel 1000 event space and the private party at the boutique itself, setting the mood and ambiance for this indulgent night of inspired fashion, food and music!
CONSOLIDATED WORKS ART CENTER

KWANCHAI spearheaded the event planning of this 7,500 square foot Art Center; located in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood. The space was fully staged with lighting and decor to allow attendees to interact to the artists' installations. The private fundraiser tempted 300 guests with conceptual art, fabulous cuisine, original cocktails and opportunity to create art! The evening was highlighted by a suspended trapeze artist performing above the audience while a live jazz band played on.
NIGHT FANTASIA

This annually designed KWANCHAI event teams Jonathan Mathews & FantAsia original promoter, Erik Witzoe. In 1999, Seattle celebrated the first official event to recognize Seattle's Gay Asian community. In more than a decade, many of Seattle's Asian Performing Drag Artists have launched their careers at Night FantAsia. The latest incarnation of Night Fantasia included spectacular live performances and fashion shows.

YEAR OF THE RAT 2008! Cafe Metropolitan celebrated the Chinese New Year with a bang!
KWANCHAI created custom floral arrangements and adorned Cafe Metropolitan with shimmering organza and Asian-inspired decor to complement the festive lighting. The New Year celebration was complete with the Traditional Lion Dance, entertainers and fireworks.
SICHUAN EARTHQUAKE RELIEF BENEFIT

In partnership with New Hong Kong Restaurant and Nijo Sushi & Grill, KWANCHAI responded to the devastating 2008 Sichuan earthquake by organizing the Sichuan Earthquake Relief Benefit for the International Tzu Chi Foundation. The joining of our community in support of the Tzu Chi Foundation's efforts in the China earthquake disaster relief provides hope and instills a vision of renewal for the future.
